Ex-Display, Factory Seconds & Failed Delivery Furniture Explained
Understanding Our Clearance Furniture
At Quality Furniture Clearance, We only stock the highest of three grades given by manufacturers when grading their clearance furniture, Therefore, we offer premium furniture at exceptional prices through three main categories: ex-display, factory seconds, and failed delivery items. Here's what you can expect from each.
Ex-Display Furniture
What is ex-display furniture?
Ex-display pieces are items that have been used in our showroom or retail displays. They've been handled by customers and may show minor signs of use, but remain in excellent condition.
What to expect:
- Minor cosmetic marks such as light scratches, small scuffs, or fingerprints
- Fully functional with no structural damage
- Same quality craftsmanship as full-price items
- Significant savings compared to brand new pieces
- Fully assembled delivery in most cases
Factory Seconds
What are factory seconds?
Factory seconds are items with minor cosmetic imperfections that occurred during manufacturing or transit. These pieces don't meet the exacting standards for full-price sale but are structurally sound and fully functional. We don't often know the reasons why an item may have failed Quality control as its not listed, at worst it may be a split/crack on one area or a corner nock, at best there won't be any obvious signs of imperfections whatsoever, as we deal only with high end suppliers, who often give unto 15 year warranties on furniture when bought directly from them, this means quality control is extremely strict and often what they fail, the average person would never see.
What to expect:
- Small cosmetic blemishes such as minor scratches, dents, or colour variations
- Imperfections typically on non-visible surfaces or easily concealed areas
- Full structural integrity and functionality
- Solid construction and quality materials
- Excellent value for money
Failed Delivery Items
What are failed delivery items?
These are pieces that were returned due to delivery issues—such as the customer being unavailable, access problems, or change of mind—rather than product defects.
What to expect:
- May have been unpacked and repackaged for inspection
- Possible minor packaging wear or cosmetic marks from handling
- Fully inspected and verified as structurally sound
- Same quality furniture at reduced prices
